Nineteen of the Russian's 21 championships have been won on hardcourt
A comeback Daniil Medvedev claimed his first championship for 882 days with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid period, achieving just a single victory at the Grand Slams and suffering a difficult moment at the American major.
The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his serving in especial - led to him exiting of the top ten and eventually separating with long-term trainer Gilles Cervara.
Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a tightly fought three-set victory over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's maiden title after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface after that period of 2023.
Victory also means he has won 21 championships at 21 distinct events.
"For the first time I am participating in a tournament with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a trophy is particularly special," stated world number 14 the champion.
"This title is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the first title I won when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his previous six finals, including in that event in the past months.
The player's retrieving approach and regular outbursts on the playing surface had caused observers to doubt if his capacity to play at the elite level was finished.
Yet the athlete has altered his approach in the past month, striving to approach the net and compete aggressively, supported by an improved serve.
Medvedev fought back from a break down in the first set against the difficult opponent, securing four of the final five points to go ahead.
The competitors exchanged breaks in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to push for a third set.
The opponent defended 4 early break points in a close deciding set before the Russian won the break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Appropriately, the winner secured victory with a shot at the net, with his opponent unable to control a shot after a lengthy match.
