Management Shift Follows Poor Reception
Brinkman assumes the role of studio head at 31st Union following the dismissal of previous head Michael Condrey, who was removed from his post due to Project Ethos' lackluster unveiling last fall.
On Wednesday, the company's top executive David Ismailer informed staff about this strategic move through an official communication, which highlighted that playtesting had indicated the requirement for a more defined direction.
The president noted that the developers is now refining Project Ethos with a renewed vision, aiming to better meet gamer demands.
Trend of Strategic Recruitment
This announcement follows a comparable step taken by the publisher in the summer, when they hired an industry veteran from the Diablo team to contribute to the beloved franchise studio Cloud Chamber.

The player input from last fall’s the game testing phase was enlightening. It affirmed the potential of a action-packed game but made clear we still had improvements to make. It highlighted the requirement for a clearer identity.
It’s been inspiring to see how far you’ve progressed. You embraced the input to heart and overhauled Project ETHOS with a renewed vision - one that’s positioned to achieve its promise to our players.
